Question title : privacy in China
  Question:

I am helping my company to produce an online privacy statement. Does China even recognize privacy rights?

An online statement should cover various issues, such as what information will be collected by the website, how the information will be used and shared, what information will be disclosed to the public or a third party, how the website will protect the information transmitted through website, whether the website will use the information to solicit business, how a user may modify information submitted and how to protect the integrity of the information.

China’s privacy laws are not fully developed yet. Privacy rights are only recognized through the PRC Supreme Court’s interpretation. However, with the development of internet and the ever increasing online commercial activities and the consumer protection awareness, it becomes necessary to appropriately address the privacy protection issue.
